One drizzling weekend, we were invited by the Dawn MT bikers group to join their cycling escapades. They planned on conquering the highlands of Nabuclod village, and so we took the challenge.
We went to a gas station in Floridablanca via convoy which marked the starting point of our journey. We started biking through well-paved roads, advanced to off-roads, then went up and down the hills.
The climb was very strenuous because the ascent was very steep. There were times that we needed to walk our bikes to reach the top. Every now and then, we had to stop to regain strength. No wonder they called the descent part the "recovery" as it really gives time to restore energy. At some point, we felt like backing out, but the thought of being almost there kept us going.
We reached a stop-over station where we took a break before finally moving on to the final climb. After the break, we continued biking all the way to the peak and met some young aetas along the way who gave us "high-five" which lifted our spirits. Finally, we successfully arrived at the peak and we felt fulfilled.
There was a view deck at the top which allowed us to see a breath-taking panoramic scenery. We had our breakfast amid the mountain ranges.
Our way back was a downhill ride. We were advised many times to mind our breaks to avoid accidents. The way down was fun and fast. The trip safely came to an end even though we got caught in the rain. Overall, it was a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
